Friday Fictioneers 02.16.24 – “No One Ever Sees It Coming”

Every Friday the Fictioneers come from all over the world to share 100 words at Rochelle Wisoff-Fields blog (http://rochellewisofffields.wordpress.com/). All genres welcome (Please exercise discretion).

My 99 word contribution starts below this photo. Thanks for reading!

Inside the vacant apartment a cellphone buzzes.

Hitman1: “Text says ‘All clear’. Take the shot.”

Hitman2: (From the balcony) “Isn’t this guy a senator or something? What’d he do besides this intern who won’t get outta my line of sight?”

Hitman1: “He messed with the wrong people. Take. The. Shot. The car’s here. Flight leaves in 30.”

Hitman2: “Trust me. He’ll never see it coming”.

Hitman2 acquires the unobstructed target through his TAC-338 scope. Trigger squeezed.

The intern screams.

Two shots from a silenced Ruger pierce the apartment.

Hitman2 slumps over.

Hitman1: “Yep. No one ever sees it coming.”
