Him: “Honey I’d have to rewire the thing to get it working again . Not to mention out of ALL the yard sales we’ve been to today this is the only lamp with most of a broken bulb remaining in the socket. ”

Her: “But it reminds me of that beach house we rented in Savannah that summer. We never did get out of the house much as I recall.”

Both share a knowing smile.

Him: “Are you sure this is the one?”

  1. I love Savannah! And this story was great. I love the cheekiness between the two. Flowed very nicely. (Oh and you can use a raw potato cut in half to get out one of those broken bulbs.) I am a vat of useless info. 😉

  2. Good story – and needle nosed pliers is the only way to go – you are right! Otherwise you do have a mess and if it’s plugged in – a deadly mess. Nice read! Nan

  3. Great light bulb moment. Helpful hint: If a light blub breaks off in a socket you can use a potato to remove it. I think I read that in the 70′s and have been waiting all this time to use it.
